The people behind Piaterra

Some moments stay with you: waking up among the trees, hearing a river nearby, and setting out into a landscape you have never explored before.

We believe more people should be able to experience those moments.

Yet for many people with mobility needs, places in nature are still difficult to access and even harder to trust. Piaterra was created to change that.

Meet the team

Seb is a former physiotherapist, adventurer and founder of Onbegrensd Avontuur, where he spent years creating accessible outdoor adventures for people with physical disabilities.

Gerda founded Buitengewoon Reizen, her own accessible travel agency, and has worked in accessible travel for decades.

Asmae is the creator of Roll on Adventures and brings lived experience and a passion for accessible travel.

Together, they bring practical experience, lived understanding and a shared belief that more people should be able to experience nature.

Designed with lived experience

Piaterra was not designed around assumptions.

The unit was developed together with an advisory group of people with different disabilities and an architect specialised in universal design. Together, we reviewed the layout, measurements, equipment and practical details that can determine whether a space is genuinely comfortable and easy to use.

That process does not end now that the first unit has been built. We will continue listening to our guests, learning from their experiences and improving every future Piaterra location.

Our promise

Accessibility is personal. No single accommodation works perfectly for everyone, and we will never pretend otherwise.

What we can promise is honesty.

The measurements, photographs and features shown on our accessibility information page reflect what you will find when you arrive. We give you the information you need to decide whether Piaterra works for you before you book.

If anything is unclear, or you see a way we can improve, please tell us. We want Piaterra to keep getting better.
